Who this is for
Order of Video Games is a general-audience reference site about video game series. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email rss1q84@gmail.com.
What the site stores
There are no accounts. The only value this site writes on your device is a local storage key named oovg-consent, set to accepted or declined when you use the banner at the bottom of the page. That key remembers the choice so the banner does not ask again. It is not sent to a server by this site. Clearing stored data for this site removes the choice and shows the banner again.
Analytics
The banner offers Accept and Decline before any analytics script runs. GoatCounter is a privacy-friendly counter. It does not use cookies. Its script, count.js from gc.zgo.at, pointed at https://orderofvideogames.goatcounter.com/count, is requested only after you choose Accept. Decline does not load that script, does not send a page view, and does not send click events.
After you accept, GoatCounter counts the page you are on. A click on a Where to buy link also sends a GoatCounter event whose path looks like amazon-click/trails/sky-fc: the series slug, then the game id. If you have not accepted, the link still opens and no click event is sent.
Amazon and future ads
Where-to-buy links open an Amazon search. The affiliate tag is empty until it is set in the site config, so those links do not identify this site to Amazon yet. When a tag is added, Amazon may set its own cookies and pay a commission, under Amazon's policies. Display ads are not running. If they are added later, this policy will be updated before they go live.
Logs
The host, Vercel, may keep standard request logs such as IP address, browser, and URL for security and operations. This site does not run its own user database.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will change with it.
